My God are we STILL on this!?

I forgot what year this is. Is it 2010 or not? Now, I consider myself as Black, though I see myself, down my lineage as being a million different things. I will /not/ call myself African American. Indians (from India) have dark skin, but who is calling them of African Descent? You can get dark skin from anywhere.

Now, Jamaica is a diverse country. Jamaicans are proud to be JAMAICAN, that should be enough for YOU. Don't worry about the hell they call themselves! This is a very ignorant comment to say that Jamaicans (on top of others) should CALL THEMSELVES BLACK. They are JAMAICAN. Whether you like it or not, we have developed our own cultures. I am AMERICAN, I grew up in this American culture, and will call myself American, and then Black. Jamaicans (who have dark skin) I am sure, have no problem admitting second that they are Black, but they are PROUD OF THEIR CULTURE, and Jamaicans, and Hispanics love their culture just like someone from Africa LOVES THEIR CULTURE. Africa is not only a continent but a CULTURE, it is not always about race. Your CULTURE is what makes you you, and not just your skin color. We need to get beyond this stupid skin debate because it is holding everyone back. Pointing fingers and calling people names. It should be a nonissue right now. And to mention, who defines what is Black? You? Well many other people have something different. Just because you stewed up your little definition of what Black is, doesn't mean everyone has to follow it. We all have our own definitions of WHAT WE ARE. And in your little world, there may be only three ethnicities, but to most of the world, there's millions. There's little tribes in Africa who call themselves as such. Tribes in Asia who call themselves as such. I can prove you wrong all day just using my own definition. It is very annoying and pointless. End of discussion.

Woo *fans self* Theese Ethnic discussions are not for me.

The Duggar Family (Part Duece)

After taking some time to think about the Duggars in depth I realized...I may be a little less than open-minded to their style of parenting. I am completely surrounded by people who plop their children in front of the TV, or a video game while they clean, or even take a nap. The Duggar family, is a happy well rounded family with high-set morals, who takes long leaps to shelter their children...That there though would be my first complaint. As you can't shelter a child from everything. Not to say these children have no clue about what life is like, but there's just some things.

I have come to enjoy watching their family grow even with the cameras surrounding them, as they show their family responsibility while also letting them be children. But, I feel as though I see Gender roles being implemented in the family, and I feel have come so far to not be considered "different". Though, I don't see any: "I am man, you do as I say", because they all talk and get along well, I would just like to see the girls in some pants, and maybe even switching chore roles, but something tells me some of the girls would not be up for carrying lumber! :) Anyways, I guess that's just my two cents.

Wife Swap

I'm sure most people have seen, or heard of this show. It's where two mothers trade places for awhile and try to "improve" the others lives. There's just a lot of problems with the show. When religion is added in, it's very discouraging because the opposing religion is taking the opportunity to change the others mindset. Families get very upset when they are told how to raise their children, or what kind of rules to set. This is reality TV at its greatest, and though I watch it, I just don't think its a nice show morally, and this is my opinion.

Jennifer Hudson's Family

In case no one has heard the devastating news, it can be found here at this link: http://www.chicagotribune.com/chi-jennifer-hudson-timeline-1027,0,1408545.story

I will give you a minute to read it...

Okay, now you know the deal. I have so much to say...yet I don't know where to begin. My heart and prayers go out to her family and everyone because this is so tragic. It amazes me how someone can have the heart...the guts, no morals, no...ugh. There are just no words. If they find the killer he shouldn't even be able to speak. Just throw his ass in jail. Now, I am against Capitol Punishment but this is one of the cases where I wouldn't care.

Just, how? And Why? The person I am most saddened for is the little boy. He barely began life yet! Only 7 years old, and it was taken from him. He was taken from his mother! She will have to live with that for the rest of her life and who knows how it will affect her? What gives people the right to take anyone's life?

I pray that they do not give up hope or their faith in God. They will need his strength to get through this hard time. I just, I don't even know what to say. I particularly hate death, and hate hearing about it and especially speaking upon it. I refuse to go to funerals....so that may be why I am lacking in thoughts. If anyone has anything to say on the topic or wants to leave their condolences as well, then feel free to leave a comment.

The Duggar Family

Note: I do not make outlines so I warn you that my information can be jumbled and out of some type of chronological order.

In case no one knows about the family, it's the family who is currently expecting their 18th child. Their shows can be found on TLC. I am pretty sure they will continue to be on TV while Michelle (mom) continues to bring more children into the world. What brought me to write this is because I am currently watching it. Their 18th child is another girl thankfully considering they have 10 boys. They need more estrogen in that house. I just read here: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26942419/ that the oldest just got married at 20 I might add! I am going to be biased for 5 seconds (as I plan on marrying young), as I figured having that many kids would be birth control for the whole family, or more of a reason to move out as quick as possible so maybe that makes more sense.

Now, this is interesting for me because their newest child Jessica is only a little over one year old, and her and her new sister will be a year and a few months apart. Some women cry over their miscarriages and what not, and people struggle to get pregnant, and babies are being left in trash cans...and this woman can have a baby on a whim! It's honestly quite depressing, and I know she isn't the only mother in the world to have done this before, but she's being displayed on TV, and they all have the same parents, and they're slightly different and I will go on to explain why.

I love Angelina Jolie. I have respect for her. Except for when she looks like she's letting her body waste away. She has 3 biological kids, and 3 adopted children. This is /exactly/ how I want my family to be. Other children deserve a home, and yet you want to have your own kids. Angelina started adopting while she was single, and she is obviously capable of having her own kids even if she may need a doctor's help, yet she still adopts. Call her what you want, I feel like she does it genuinely. If she adopted 18 kids I would be happy too! Maybe what makes me so angry at the Duggar Family is their family seems so "happy" and perfect. Ever watched Jon & Kate plus 8? The kids fight, and Kate yells, and the couple bickers slightly, and when they go in public they have behaved children that get restless. I find it so hard to understand how talking sweetly gets the kids to behave, and in a way it doesn't, but I don't need to go into that.

MSNBC has been good to me today. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20134584/ Here I find they are apart of a Christian movement called the Quiverful, and it sounds so old fashioned. "
Couples in the movement also believe that the husband is the head of the household and the wife is submissive to him, while the children are submissive to both. The girls wear long dresses or skirts and tops, while the boys wear slacks and polo shirts."(Mike Celzic), but I thought women came a long way to not be under a man's wing. "To each their own." I myself believe in God, but, that does not mean...well now see, I can't even phrase my words without sounding extremely wrong, or ignorant as if I haven't already.

Lastly all I want to say is, it shouldn't even be surprising that she says she's pregnant again, but the fact that she continues, it IS surprising. I think the next time I'll be shocked is when she says she can no longer get pregnant. That honestly has to be more annoying than happy to go through pregnancy /again/. It's just too much.

Anyone have any opinions on my thoughts? Something to add? The Duggar family is a great family but they fill me with jealousy, and anger, and other stuff that I vented most of.
